We are now looking for an engaged support educator for the Competence Center who wants to contribute to improving the quality of competence development for our employees in care and support.

The Competence Center is a new initiative within the care and support administration in Eskilstuna municipality. Here, theory and practice meet in an inspiring learning environment with method rooms, VR technology, fictional users, and practical exercises. We offer introduction, further education, and pedagogical support to employees in both the disability sector and elderly care.

We are now building a completely new unit that trains both summer substitutes and permanent staff. We work directly in the operations to strengthen competence where it is needed most. The assignment includes, among other things, introductory training, CPR training, and practical learning through mobile learning boxes.

Since the Competence Center is still under construction, you have a unique opportunity to influence the development of the operation from the ground up.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

As a support educator, you will work together with the unit manager, specialist nursing assistants, care teachers, and training coordinators to plan, develop, and implement educational initiatives that provide employees with security, knowledge, and practical skills. You will also be responsible for the introduction of summer substitutes and permanent employees ahead of spring, ensuring they have a good start and feel well prepared for their tasks.

In this role, you contribute with a pedagogical approach that promotes participation, clear communication, and increased understanding of individual needs. You work closely with operations and based on needs to strengthen competence in daily work and contribute to sustainable competence supply within care and support.

QUALIFICATIONS

For the position, you need to have training as a support educator. As a support educator at the competence center, you support employees in working in a structured and respectful manner based on individual needs. You preferably have experience working with individuals with autism and intellectual disabilities. We view knowledge in low-affect responses, AAC, PFA, and clarifying pedagogy positively.

The work requires a good ability to express yourself in the Swedish language, both verbally and in writing, as communication and documentation are an important part of the assignment. The position assumes that you enjoy meeting people in various contexts and have the ability to adapt your pedagogical approach based on the needs of the operation.

It is advantageous to be able to handle digital operational systems, such as Viva and Appva. Experience with digital training tools and learning platforms is also a plus, as is training as a CPR instructor. It is also beneficial if you have a B driver's license.
